After unpacking the source code, install StateMenu in the usual manner:

./configure &&
make &&
make install

You may also want to copy the sample config file to either /etc or ~/

cp statemenu-sample.xml /etc/statemenu.xml

cp statemenu-sample.xml ~/.statemenu.xml
